Learning How to Ski

For new skiers the most important step in assuring fun, success, and safety is taking a lesson with a qualified, professional instructor at Timberline Four Seasons Resort's Ski School. We have trained professional ski instructors to guide beginning skiers through simple steps that lead to the mastery of basic skiing techniques. Although each and ever skier is different, most folks will learn the essentials (balancing, sliding, stopping, turning and speed control) in 1 to 3 hours of instruction.

The secret to becoming a great skier is skiing better one step at a time. The best skiers know that perfecting ski technique is an ongoing process, and there's always room for improvement. And regardless of your level, improving your skills makes it more fun. One of the keys to skiing better is instruction with a professional who is trained to help you achieve your goals.
