DAVIS, WEST VIRGINIA                                                      FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Timberline Begins an Expanded Mountain Biking Program

Timberline Four Seasons Resort is back on the mountain biking map. Because of the rich history of wildly popular mountain biking events, the resort has reorganized and reconstructing its mountain biking efforts. The unparalleled riding terrain available on the mountain is well known to enthusiasts around the world.

According to Timberline’s general manager Tom Blanzy, the opening day of mountain biking operations will be May 24th. Both expert and easy trails encompassing the 1,000 foot mountain vertical and other lower altitude easy trails at the base of the mountain have been laid out. All levels of bikers will be able to enjoy the expanded terrain. The chair lift for downhill biking and scenic lift rides will also begin summer service at 10 AM May 24th.

Timberline will open over 3,500 vertical feet of expert level downhill riding. Several hundred acres of open riding areas include 40 foot natural wall rides, bermed downhill logging roads, a downhill single track, a downhill double track, and drops and glade tree runs offering dozens of fine choices.

The staff is constructing a dual slalom track to compliment the extensive downhill opportunities. In addition, a pump track will be built (in compliance to the specifications of “Pump Track Nation”) at the base lodge. The track will be available to all levels of riders to progress in their riding skills.

May 31st and June 1st, 2008 Timberline Four Season Resort will host an invitational weekend of riding. Members of Mid- Atlantic race organizations, professional riders, clubs, shop owners/employees, and locals are all invited to attend. Sixty participants are expected. The format of the event will feature a variety of attractions. There will be guided sessions at 10 and 2 o’clock led by the people who built Timberline’s system of trails and riding areas. J. R. Nolan, who is in charge of the mountain biking operation, believes that this will be, “…a unique opportunity and the best way to discover the wealth of riding that is Timberline.” Nolan adds that the allure of the biking terrain is evident, “…based on the successful past events held at Timberline.”

The summer biking season will have several other events to fill out the calendar and entertain guests. Events will include a downhill and dual slalom race series, Wendy’s Family Ride Charity Event and an end of season West Virginia Mountain Bike Association Mountain Bike Festival. It is anticipated that because of the world class riding terrain available there, Timberline will once again be the destination of choice for mountain bikers and spectators.
